Show MINING AfiOUSTD 3IASYSVA1E Important Discover Reported In the Branch Mine Marysvale Dec 9Never since the discovery of the Dalton in 1S91 has there been as much activity and development de-velopment work going on in Marys vale as there is at the present time tme Prospectors with burros loaded with bedding pick shovel gold pan and all the articles necessary for a prospecting prospect-ing outfit are common sights on the streets every day The town is building up rapidly and the price of real estate is raising also The excitement over the anumony property still continues and all the available ground is being rapidly located lo-cated The report to the effect that the scheme for making gold from antimony an-timony had failed has not made any perceptible change The antimony mine down near Coyote Coy-ote Is working a force of men and sending out shipments regularly The Deer Trail mine sent out the last carload of ten tons last week The result of this test is anxiously awaited by the people here I it is I favorable the Colorado capitalists will put in a large reduction plant immediately I imme-diately A strike was recently made in the Branch tunnel at a depth of 575 feet A large body of gray copper ore was encountered and samples were sent to the owners in Salt Lake to be assayed Ths assay returns were 165 ounces silver sil-ver and 1475 gold Elias Morris one of the owners wrote back to the superintendent su-perintendent and asked him to send some of the low grade samples back The superintendent immediately sent back some ox the low grade rocjr The assay returns came in yesterday The ore went 190 ounces silver and 54105 gold This strike is considered important im-portant from the fact that a small body of this ore was struck when the mine was first located A few tons were shipped to Salt Lake City and it netted the owners a handsome profit I The employees have been following a vein which is about 15 feet wide I is low grade ore but would pay well I to work if the company would erect a large mill This mine is owned by the Deseret Gold Mining 61 Milling company com-pany whose principal place of business busi-ness Is Salt Lake City A contract for CO feet of tunnel work on the WakeUpJake owned by Ferguson Fer-guson and Frew has been let to Frank I Wright and Joseph Braithwaite They are working on the Daisy Dean at present which is owned by O W Powers of Salt Lake The contract on the Dalton was let to Charles Hanks He now has a force of men at work on the property Emanuel Poulson has just finished packing up three tons of supplies for their use this winter |
