Show MORE BATTERY BOYS Work of the Recruiting Officers Yesterday Yes-terday Lieutenant Wedgwood of battery B U S V assisted by Sergeant Fehr and Blsmark Snyder were in Ogden yesterday yester-day engaged in recruiting members for the two Utah batteries The recruiting station war transferred to Chief Davenports Dav-enports office where facilities for measurements and weighing were at hand There was not a crush of applicants appli-cants but about a dozen presented themselves A number were advised by I Lieutenant Wedgwood not to try the examination his practiced eye telling him that they could not pas At about 3 oclock a half dozen were accepted and were sworn in al together The recruits will report to one of their number John A Fender Friday afternoon and receive further orders j Those enlisted yesterday were Edward A Grandpre John A Pen dec Joseph Wessler August Rode macher Louis J Pennington George W Easier |
