Show I WIRES MUST GO ST LOUIS April ISThe municipal assembly has passed a bill to bury the overhead wires The bill requires all wires to go under ground by July 1 1900 except the messenger call clock burglar alarm and wires of that character char-acter which are not strung on poles and are insulated The bill further provides that the franchises of the syndicate which build the conduits expire in 1900 and that5 per cent of the gross receipts must be paid to the city It puts the construction con-struction of conduits under control of the board of public improvements and reserves the right for the city to buy them up at the expiration of fifteen years |
