Show LuCKY BOY MINE Plenty of Work Being Done on the Property Colonel Nick Treweek was home for a few hours yesterday and was the newsiest newsi-est man in the city as regauls mining news Colonel Tieweek recently made a trip to Idaho where 1ie looked over the I Lucky Boy properties in which he is j heavily interested The properties consist I con-sist of seventeen claims which are owned by the Lucky Boy Mining company The claims are all large ones twenty acres in I extent and situated in a district u hicli has a first rate reputation as a producer The mines are located on a fork of the Salmon river known as Yankee York The district has produced from SS000000 to 10000000 already of which this same group is credited with upwards of 5000000 The colonel says they have a force oi men engaged in developing the mne and have already sunk a shaft of 300 feet This is a new shaft Hoisting works I have been put in and the new boilers and gallows frames are being put in place Sinking will begin with the new plant within the coming week I The bottom of the shaft is in a fine ore I body and about 1 000 tons of ore are already al-ready out and in the bins ready for the I mill and are adding to this mount every day The grade is between 30 and J10 I per ton of which 70 per cent of the value is in gold Everything in connection connec-tion with the mine is in first class shape and the prospects are gratifying indeed i Good substantial buildings have been 1 and arc being eroded and preparations aro beIng made for the winters campaign cam-paign There is some little water encountered I en-countered but pne small puron keens the mine dry Everything is showing up beyond the most sanguine expectations of the owners Major Stanton is in charge and is doing splendidly Stanton Is an old mining man with a thorough practical practi-cal experience and is demonstrating that he knows his business thoroughly The company has a thirty stamp chlorodiniz ing mill complete in every respect A new process will be tried very soon and if it dose not work the old mill will lis relied upon as it has been in the past There are forty men engaged in and around the mine and at present the mill is being I placed in condition It will be ready to stnrt about the lth of the comIng month The tramway from thp mine to the mill is 3500 feat in lerprh and ore is now being run from thn hed of the road to the mll Colonel Treweok I week will visit the place again some time next |
