MT PLEASANT OLD POLKS Given a Gay Time By the Younger People Special Correspondence Mt Pleat Jan Yesterday afternoon after-noon the old folks of the city were given their day of pleasure and enjoyment At the L D S meeting house a large crowd gathered nnd about 3 oclock set down to an elegant repast of the good things provided by the loving hands of younger attendants After all had partaken to their satisfaction of the palatable eatables eat-ables and it required several changes at tho tables so large was the crowd an appropriately arranged programme was rendered for the amusement of those present pres-ent Singing speeches recitations toasts reminiscences etc were Interspersed on tho programme and the whole formed avery a-very agreeable portion of the days exercises exer-cises A majority of the numbers were given by some of the aged citizens who demonstrated demon-strated that although not as young a they onco were they could still hold their own with the younger generation In the evening orchestral music was provided and some of the more active indulged In a few hours dancing The event was the most successful l one ever tendered the old folks in the city
