Show BOISE IS WIDE OPEN Volunteers Own the Town and Are I Grandly Entertained Special to The Herald Boise Ida Sept 29 Idaho volunteers own the town tonight Arriving last night 400 strong they met with an enthusiastic reception Boise was ablaze with Greek fire cannons boomed and 20000 people crowded the streets to give fitting welcome wel-come to the heroes of Caloocan and Santa Ana State and city officers all benevolent benevo-lent orders fire department bands of music mu-sic queen of the Idaho intermountain fair with her retinue Grand Army veterans who recalled glory of other days company com-pany H United States cavalry with returning re-turning volunteers In center farmed the grandest parade In the history of Boise After the parade the volunteers sat down to a sumptuous repast In the Levy building and afterwards went In camp All day they have been the guests of the J city Their uniforms give them access to < the fair grounds and all places of entertainment enter-tainment Tonight In Sonnas opera house the Hon X W Held of LewJston delivered an address ad-dress of welcome in the presence of a large audience The volunteers are entertained en-tertained tonight at the Columbia theatre and also at the natltorium which Is thrown open to them and where a grand ball is In progress All are much pleased with Boise reception re-ception and welcome home Tomorrow the volunteers will attend the fair and tomorrow to-morrow night those from the northern part of the state will leave for home where additional honors are In store for them |
