Shiras as that individual and said he was glad he had got through his thick hide at last The matter ended with an agreement between Dalzell Rep Pa and Mr McMillin to discuss the judicial conduct in had been made to strikeout strike-out in the general deficiency bill an item of 12202 to enable the sergeantar arms to refund the amounts withheld from the salaries of members on account ac-count of absence Mr Sayers Dem Tex a member of the appropriation committee explained ex-plained how the committee came to allow al-low the amount Mr Sayers showed that the committee had decided that the money could not be deducted He did not believe In refunding it however how-ever and would vote against the item Mr Sayers referred to an attack made yesterday on the item by Mr Hopkins Rep ill and the statement showing how many times Mr Hopkins had responded to roll calls Mr Hopkins contended in reply that this was a attempt to get the Republican Re-publican house to wash the dirty linen I of the Democratic Fiftythird congress He said that Mr Sayers could have put the item in a deficiency bill while chairman of the appropriations committee com-mittee but had waited to unload it on a Republican
