| Show SOUNDER THAN EVER United Associated Presses Able to Paddle Its Own Canoe New York Feb OThe committee of the United Associated Presses appointed ap-pointed to confer with a similar committee com-mittee of the Associated Press of Illinois toda notice to the latter nois today gave notce te that it had been instructed to terminate negotiations negtatoIs Notwithstanding that committees of the two organizations met in the most conciliatory and amicable spirit they were unable to agree upon a union Had a union been effected both parties to the appli seemed entirely agreeable appl cation of any surplus to a reduction of assessments and the payment of whatever debts the two organizations might have against them I was impossible for the representatives representa-tives of the United Press to secure a union which would fully protect either their alljed organizations or their members mem-bers and clients as individuals This was the chief reason why the negotiations negotia-tions came to an end The United Press committee desires to inform its members and clients that with the i cordial financial loyal cooperation of all the New York members and its I allied organizations all over the country coun-try arrangements have been made by which the United Press will continue on a sound paying basis This guarantees guaran-tees a permanent and thoroughly effective I effec-tive service The United Associated I Presses have total receipts of more I than 1000000 per annum With this volume of business i is idle to assume I that a strong efficient or permanent service cannot be maintained This will be done and every member and I client of the United Associated Presses clent can feel assured that he will have I permanent and satisfactory service The Sun resumes Its former relations to the United States and renews its allegiance al-legiance and hearty support of the organization The Herald Tribune Times and Journal also continue their support as heretofore as well as the members generally of the United Press proper and its allied organization |
