Show WX Ponders Twin Home, Zero Lot Line Ordinance WOODS CROSS -- The Woods Cross City Council is considering passage of a new twin-home, zero lot line ordinance ordi-nance which will provide residents resi-dents with additional housing alternatives. THE ORDINANCE will allow construction of twin-homes twin-homes with a common wall and a singular lot line separation separa-tion between each unit, according to Mayor Lawrence I'rry. Woods Cross has condomi niums, but existing ordinances do not allow for the twin-home, twin-home, zero lot line concept, he said in a telephone interview Wednesday. THE TWIN-home concept is growing in popularity in Davis County, the developments develop-ments popping up most notably not-ably in Farmington and Kays-ville. Kays-ville. Most are a low-cost alternative alter-native to traditional single-family single-family dwellings. Passage of the new ordinance ordi-nance will allow developers to save money on extra ground. Mayor Urry explained, noting that a single wall will be shared by the owners. Thus, the available avail-able site space will increase. THE MAYOR said he. personally, per-sonally, has not yet been contacted con-tacted by developers who are interested in construction of twin-home subdivisions, but said the ordinance is needed. Neighboring cities to the north, like Clearfield, are considering con-sidering passage of a similar ordinance, but are asking plan ning commission members to look closely at the design of the twin-homes. THE KEELING of the Clearfield Clear-field City Council is that the developments should not be constructed entirely the same, that there should be some aesthetic aes-thetic differences between each multiple unit. West Bountiful already allows twin-homes and has approved construction of at least one subdivision during the last couple years, mdm |
