Show ALASKA BOUNDARY QUESTION Canadian and United States Commissioners Commis-sioners Preparing for Work OTTAWA June Professor W F King the Canadian commissioner in the Alaska boundary question arrived today from Vancouver and reports that the Canadian and United States survey parties par-ties are all under way Professor Men denhall the United States commissioner is not at the coast but Assistant Ogden is superintendent of the dispatch of the American parties The steamer Thistle has been sent up the coast to give all help possible and carry reserye provisions Both the Canadian and United States parties will report in September but they will probably only be half through the work by that time They ore expected ex-pected to need all next summer Professors Pro-fessors King and Mendenhallare required to report to their respective governments within two years No friction is anticipated antici-pated Professor King says the commissioners are all on the best terms and prepared to give each other assistance if need be Still they will be strictly loyal to their respective interests as the ownership of valuable mining resources including it is believed considerable gold fields will be decided by the location of the boundary bound-ary line |
