PKENULKGAST WILL HANG PIENDERGASl will Start on the Spook Route on Marcli I8 Chicago Feb 24 Judgre Brentano who presided at the trial qf Pren dergast the man who assassinated Mayor Carter H Harrison after listening lis-tening to the arguments for the motion for a new trial today rendered his decision overruling the motion and entenced him to be hanged on March 23 Before sentence was pronounced Prendergast delivered a long ramblmg talk to the court objecting to the plea of insanity made by his counsel and declaring that the only point at issue was whether he had done right in kill ing Harrison whether he was justified in committing the deed This he said had not been touched on during the trial
