been sufficient to enlist the sympathy of adamantine ada-mantine hearts Stripped and peeled by their oppressors scattered among all the nations of the earth without a temple without a gathering place without a nation na-tion they have preserved themselves a distinct dis-tinct people but have been so preserved only to bo despised scorned mistrusted oppressed op-pressed It is these facts which lead us to belive there is virtue in the prediction of the great head of the Christian church t the effect that Jerusaluin shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles be fult led and also in that other prediction addressed to the samo people peo-ple Behold your house is left unto you desolate For I say unto you ye shall not see me henceforth till ye shall bay blessed is he that cometh in the name of theLord The fate of the Jews since their rejection of the son of GOD has been in strict keeping keep-ing with what is foreshadowed by the predictions pre-dictions here Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles bs come in And so all Israel shall be saved Meanwhile they stand as a warning to people more favored than tbey are now Let the Gentile nations learn the lesson their misfortunes teach that it is a terrible thing to reject GOD a calamity indeed for GOD to withdraw His friendship from a nation |
