otherwise as it is known that a minor enlisting is fraudulent and can get his discharge We give the retirement law for enlisted men as it in order just now owing to the fact that war service counts double That when an enlisted man has served as such thirty years in the United States army or marine corps either as a private or noncommissioned officer or both he shall by application to the President bo placed on the retired list hereby created with the rank held by him at the date of retirement and he shall receive thereafter seventyfive per centum of the pay and allowances al-lowances of the rank upon which he was retired Provided That said enlisted man had war service with the army in the field or in the navy or in the marine corps inactive in-active service either as volunteer or regular regu-lar during the war of the rebellion said war service shall bo computed as double time in computing the thirty years necessary neces-sary to entitle him to be retired This act was approved September 30 IS 0 The war department has not as yet decided as to what construction can be made on field service and of course in duo time ar order from headquarters of the army will bi forthcoming
