| Show Fraudulent Land Entries in Idaho HELENA Mont Nov 10lSpecial telegram tele-gram t THE HERALD J Within the last cmety days 50000 acres of Jand have been taken up in the vicinity of Idaho Falls Fallsv Idaho under the desert act Special Agent Fals Tyner of the land department department suspecting that the laud was being taken up for specu lative purposes investigated He found that the entries wore being made by eastern east-ern parties who had been induced ben t file or to claim by a Denver syndicate It is al eged that parties of eastern partes eatrn people were taken to Idaho Falls on special excursions ajd then taken by wagons across the Snake river t some hight point where the view is unobstructed for twenty miles and the parties then go to tho land office ofce to make affidavit that they had vis ited each tract upon which entry was made I and the law requires that each person shall visit the tract entered upon and swear that the laud is not taken up for speculative Purposes It seems that those provisions have been ignored and the special agent thinks he can have all such entries can wiled Bona tide settlers are complaining us the land vail be tied up and held back from settlement settement three years and the records of the land office in Idaho show that on one day over twenty entries were made by Chicago parties Large parties partes also brought from ao Portland Denver and Salt Lake I this is kept up all the desert land will be tied wi up within a short time but the matter is to 03 brought before the department at Washington and i entries are cancelled eastern parties who have been taken into the scheme will be out the Expense of their trip and the fees paid the company inducing them to go pad It has ha created much excitement |
