on kicks The first was from C ouncilman Hall The committee on licenses to whom was referred the petition oj lames S ODonald for a liquor license on State road near the city hal reported favorably ll Hall objected Ho said the city council was doing wrong in the promiscous granting of saloon licenses The city was building a city hal near this spot and it would employ a great many men This saloon would be a constant temptation On Main street the saloon business had been kept within a prescribed circle All the gin mills were on one side Of f the street He thought in this case os some restriction should be made and the locality near the city hal kept free from saloons Little Councilman Cohn remarked that if the property holders did not object the council had no business to
