| Show A BREAK FOR LIBERTY Willie OConnor Escapes from the Reform School William OConnor and John Ashton two inmates of the reform school made an attempt to escape from that institution at about 2 oclock yesterday morning and the former succeeded It seemed that these lads roomed an the third floor of the build ing and at the time stated they let a rope made of blank ts out of the window and started down OConnor made the descent successful success-ful but when Ashton was about half way down the rope broke and he fell to the ground spraining his ankle badly He was recaptured but OConnor succeeded in getting away and E M Allison one of the officers of the school came down to Salt Lake yesterday in search for him OConnor was sent up from this city for stealing about two months ago He is 17 years of age weighs 130 pounds is stout built red hair and ruddy face somewhat freckled He wore a pair of blue overalls branded and his undershirt bore the same number He is believed to be in this city Assault With Intent to Kill William M Johnson the engineer at St Marys academy who made such a vicious assault upon Emil Neinecke a tramp who called at the school on Saturday night was arraigned before Commissioner Nor rell yesterday on a complaint sworn to by Deputy Sheriff Burbridge charging him with assault with intent to kill he defendant de-fendant pleaded not guilty and was re leased upon giving a bond in the sum of 2500 to secure his appearance for examination exam-ination on Thursday at 2 p m Prisoners Discharged William Prescott and Robert Curray who were sentenced at Provo on April 15 1891 for housebreaking were released from the penitentiary yesterday Nearing the End The arguments in the case of Jack Bolton charged with obtaining money under false pretenses were begun in Com missioner Greenmans court yesterday and it is expected that the case will be submitted today |
