Show Gymnasts Win In Las Vaqas state all-around champion ot 1980, placed fifth on vault. Ellen Cooper, from Hill AFB in Ogden won an eighth place award in the floor exercise. That Saltos are coached by Mike Dennison and Blake Starr. ISA GYMNASTICS World opened in Bountiful in May of 1980 and while Mike Dennison has been coaching for 13 years it is a building year for the school. "We are pleased to be doing so well this year," says Mr. Dennison of the team. Gymnastics World will be hosting the Saltos Invitational Class II and I at the U. of U. on Jan. 9-10. Teams from four states will vie for top honors. This promises to be a very exciting ex-citing meet amd year in gymnastics, gym-nastics, np y7 r Five members of the Saltos gymnastics team from USA Gymnastic World of Bountiful travelled to Nevada this weekend to take part in the prestigeous Gym Vegas Class II Invitational meet, hosted by Dusty Ritter's Gymnastics in Las Vegas. THE GIRLS competed optional op-tional routines on the four Olympic events against a field of sixty gymnasts representing twelve teams. The Saltos were in second place as a team after two events, and finished with a strong first place on vault. They placed seventh overall in the team competition. THE GYM Vegas Invita-tional Invita-tional boasted a field of big name teams such as the National Na-tional Artistic Academy of Oregon, The Desert Devils of Arizona, and the Kips of Southern California. The top four place teams were: National Artistic Academy of Oregon, first; Gymnastics Olympic! of Southern California, second; Agil-ites of Sacramento, third; and Kips of Southern California, Califor-nia, fourth. BEVERLY SNELL of Kays-ville Kays-ville captured fourth place on the uneven parallel bars in the final competition. She also tied for tenth place on vault with her teammate, Dianne Fowers.
