| Show r I VERY GRAVE CHARGE The Strange Case of Mrs Schlicke and Mr Hyde Jt UK HYDE IS UNDER ARREST He Is Charged with Unduly Influencing the Lady by Cleans of the Almighty Dollar Dol-lar Other Business A complaint was yesterday issued from the Third District court in the name of the United States against Alonzo E Hyde I charging that on the 1st day of February 1S90 at the city and county of Salt Lake the said Alonzo E Hyde did wilfully knowingly unlawfully and corruptly endeavor en-deavor to influence Emily Schlicke to leave the jurisdiction of the Third District court and to absent herself from the territory of Utah to the intent that she the said Emily Schlicke might not and should not be called as a witness upon the trial of the cause of k the United States against John Beck by corruptly offering promising and agreeing to give her a certain sum of moneys upon the condition that she should forthwith depart de-part from the territory and remain away and refuse to testify upon the trial of said action as aforesaid warrant was issued in accordance with the above and Mr Hyde was yesterday arrested ar-rested and taken before Commissioner Greenman where he gave bonds in the um of 1000 to appear at 10 a m next I Monday i |
