THE GAY When a company is as good as that which has been presenting the light opera called The Gay Musician at atthe atthe atthe the Shubert it deserves more than passing mention There Thera is nothing par particularly particularly particularly attractive about the tha theatre And people who have known the his histories histories tories of at the tho various theatres here are not prepared for tor anything very good Inside But the unexpected happens The play is worth while In the first place it is a play It has plot enough to follow tollow all the way I through It make a bad comedy com om comedy edy without note of ot music But it has oceans of ot music There is as clever a creation considered as melody as has been presented to the public in years And the tha company both as singers and andas andas as actors are worthy the tha best sort of at presenting They have been tremendously tremendously tremendously handicapped by tho the little stage of ot the Shubert but they have carried off oft their triumphs with the utmost pa patience patience patience tience and have haye simply electrified a succession of ot audiences with dered solos with a singularly good strong and true chorus and with a pro profusion profusion fusion of ot pretty gowns that would make fair tall excuse for tor even a weak or halting performance So clever so BO capable so well trained and so BO successful a company deserves the biggest stage and the most luxurious luxurious rious of ot surroundings
