The one that is our ' Sulcus sports reporter for j ie Clipper. 1 WOULD like to express rnv gratitude for the most musing article I have read in ' a long, long time. It was : jxier the heading of Names, '. Vanes, Names: How To Get - Them Right. '' I appreciate the effort you em to in order to get the lame of my son who plays a - defensive back on the Bountiful Boun-tiful foaiail team correct. OCR WHOLE family en-Bid en-Bid the article and found it tie as funny as I did. Correction, all but one. Kent -K-E-N-T didn't think it was as Tired of being called every name except his own Bountiful Boun-tiful defensive back K-E-N-T Waters finally decided to introduce himself to our fearless reporter Dave. funny as the rest of us. Perhaps because he is the one that plays the defensive back position. You made an accurate correction as far as Kevin is concerned since he does play football for Millcreek Jr. High. However his position is that of a halfback on offense and line backer on defense. And yes he is a very good player. I'm sure you know that since you helped coach Kevin at one time in Jr. League Football. Kevin was delighted with your articles. IN YOUR article you said, it wasn't Kevin on the Bountiful Boun-tiful High team but Mark Waters that played the defensive defen-sive back position. Hugh - I mean Dave, Mark (who is our oldest son) graduated from Bountiful High five years ago, has been married almost two years and proudly presented us with our first grandchild in June of this year. He certainly participated par-ticipated at every football game during his senior year -he was a Yell Leader. He was very flattered by your article and both he and his wife had a good laugh along with us, (except for Kent - K-E-N-T.) IT WAS just before the Ben Lomond game that Kevin's name appeared in the paper. During that game one of the announcers said that Rick Waters made a good tackle. This is understandable since the announcer had known Rick and it was no doubt a slip of the tongue. Rick is our second oldest and he graduated from Bountiful Boun-tiful High four years ago. Rick also participated at every football game during his senior year - he was also a Yell Leader. He enjoyed the news of his tackle and found it amusing along with the rest of us, (except for Kent - K-E-N-T.) LATER IN the same game the announcer straightened the name out and Kent was credited for his efforts. Now we seem to have another problem Dave, (it is Dave isn't it?) We only have five children and so far it could appear that the whole Waters family are playing on the Bountiful Varsity Team, at least the four boys and that brings up a new problem. We have a daughter, her name is Judy. She is also a Bountiful graduate. She seems to feel left out since we have always been a sharing family. This could create a problem -womens lib - a conspiracy -these young people - you know how it is. ON THE other hand Kent -K-E-N-T usually has a very good sense of humor and I'm sure he could regain it again if he could see his name in the paper. I'll just have to hand this problem over to you Dave. It is Dave because I just looked it up in th paper. Hugh is your father's name right? I CERTAINLY hope others enjoy the errors your typewriter makes as much as we do. Keep up the good work. 1 hesitate to sign my name since it is spelled the same as a male name and I'm too darn old to play on Bountiful High's football team. I'll take a chance and hope you will refer back to this letter before your next article. On second thought I'll just tell you may name is Jerry and sign it. Mrs. Waters The mother of part of the Bountiful High's football team. I'LL DO my best to keep Mrs. Waters out of the Bountiful Boun-tiful High secondary, but with her enthusiam and loyalty toward Bountiful, it won't be an easy task. |
