Show Planners Okay Bui By ROSELYN KIRK Planning Commissioners gave final approval, excluding exclud-ing sign approval, to the Fifth Street Food City at 435 South 500 East. City Planner Jon Reed Boothe said sign approval will be given only if owners again present the sign plan to conform to the city ordinance. THE CURRENT sign does not conform to the ordinance, which requires a sign area of not more than 72 square feet, he said. Planning commission members took a field trip to the Bob Shane property at 600 North Davis Blvd. to check street improvements requested request-ed on Mr. Shane's property. ALTHOUGH MR. Shane had withdrawn his request, the planning commission continued the field trip because the city council was awaiting the planning commission com-mission recommendation. After the field trip, the commission com-mission recommended that Mr. Shane meet with the property owners to the west and work out a solution.
