COUNCILMAN Layton and the other council members agreed with Mrs. Sessions that the offices will be open during the noon hours. The office of-fice personnel will stagger their noon hours to accommodate accom-modate this schedule. Mrs. Sessions also announced an-nounced that she is flying to San Francisco Wednesday. She will accompany her mother mo-ther and is looking forward to visiting with her twin sister while in the Bay area. CITY ADMINISTRATOR Sid Noble talked of a possible improvement district east of Main Street. Many citizens want to improve the appearance ap-pearance of the city and to assist in drainage problems. Engineer Chad Mitchell attended at-tended the meeting to recap the action of the bid opening for the improvements of the Industrial Park west of the Freeway. THE COUNCIL still feels more definite drainage plans must be made before the bids can be awarded. The fact was brought out that one place in the drainage area had been sold. Mr. Noble brought up the problems of the garbage truck. There is still question concerning some outstanding bills. PRIOR TO the meeting a special water meeting was held. Councilman Arbuckle made a report concerning the actions taken. Time has been spent in discussing the problems of providing water should the property north of the city be annexed. Councilman DeForrest Smouse reported that after the planning and zoning meeting a decision will be made as to who should do the city master pain. The council is looking forward to having a master plan as soon as possible. THE COUNCIL reminds all citizens of Centerville to prepare to vote. There are six districts in the city. If anyone has any questions regarding which district they live in or any other information informa-tion regarding the election, please call the city hall. REGISTRATION dates are Oct. 9, 12, and 26. Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 2. During Tuesday's meeting Mr. Noble brought up the. matter of fighting pornography por-nography in the city and in the area. THE COUNCIL felt that there is a need to update the city ordinances with regards to this problem. Attorney Stahle will go over an ordinance or-dinance which the council has been perusing. Then he will advise the city as to whether they should adopt a similar ordinance or formulate a similar one. |
