Show Dorothy Simmons LAYTON Dorothy Fay Roach Simmons, 72, of 1409 Marilyn Drive, died Friday, Aug. 26, 1988, at the Humana Hospital Davis North from emphysema. She was born Feb. 11, 1916 in Redondo Beach, Calif., the daughter daugh-ter of John Patrick Sr. and Willie Edna King Roach. She married Alan L. Simmons Sr. on Oct. 21, 1937 in Santa Ana, Calif. . She graduated from Redondo Beach High School and had worked work-ed as a medical transcriber at the Hill Air Force Base Hospital. In her younger years, she played the violin and the piano. Additional hobbies included bowling, fishing, arid camping. Surviving are her husband of Layton, and four sons, Alan L. Simmons Jr., Chubbuck, Ida.; Jerry Jer-ry P. Simmons, Layton; John E. Simmons, Barstow, Calif., Andy O. Simmons,- Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Layton Mortuary. Reverend Larry Dobson officiated offici-ated at funeral services on Aug. 30. Music included "Take My Hand Precious Lord," a recording; "The Lord's Prayer" by Cathy Wiberg, soloist. Pallbearers were John E. Simmons, Sim-mons, Jerry P. Simmons, Andy O. Simmons, Ted Rogers, Joe Besana and Perry Rogers. Honorary pallbearers were Alan L. Simmons Jr., Tom Cahill, Woody Willingham, JohnJ Simmons Sim-mons Jr., Murray Rogers, Dusty Simmons, Kelly Rogers, Howard Strand, Walt Bjerke and Darrell Rogers.
