Show jMiss Ruth Winsor Variously Entertained Prior To Her Temple Marriage Today Miss Ruth Winsor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Winsor of this city, who will become the bride of Charles H. Anderson, of Boise, Idaho, Thursday, May 29, in a ceremony at the St. George L. D. S. Temple, has been variously honored prior to the event. Last Saturday evening, Miss Fay Stirling entertained for her at a bridal dinner at her home' in Leeds. Plates were set for 14 with the room and table decorations decora-tions combining pink and white in floral pieces, corsages and place cards. On Monday evening, Mrs. Flora Brooks, Mrs. Paul Hafen and Mrs. Byron Taylor united as hostesses host-esses at the Hafen home in honoring hon-oring the bride-to-be with a miscellaneous mis-cellaneous shower. The 25 guests present included relatives and intimate inti-mate friends, among them, Miss Winsor's aunt, Mrs. Tina Mac-farlane, Mac-farlane, aged 82, who presented her with items of her own handiwork; handi-work; Mrs. James Judd of LaVerkin La-Verkin who recently returned with her husband from the Australia Aus-tralia mission nf th. 1. n c Church, and her house guest, Mrs. Helen Harker of Sydney, Australia, Aus-tralia, who is spending six months in the United States with friends and relatives. The bride-to-be received re-ceived many lovely gifts along with a favorite recipe from each individual. As part of the informal in-formal program, Mrs. Judd save a very interesting report of their three years in Australia and of the many changing conditions resulting re-sulting from the present conflict in Europe. An original poem by Mrs. B. G. Milne and Mrs. Laron Andrus was, also read. On Wednesday afternoon the young mothers of Washington entertained en-tertained at the home of Mrs. Cuba Hall. There were twenty-six twenty-six mothers present who had all had children in Miss Winsor's grades sometime during the 5 years she has taught at Washington. Wash-ington. Miss Winsor, assisted by her sisters, Miss Tillie Winsor and Mrs. Calvin Dalton entertained in-formaUy in-formaUy at a trousseau tea at the Winsor home Wednesday evening. The rooms were decorated with large baskets of Canterbury bells and white Feverfue, bowls of sweet peas and jars of pink and blue larkspurs. More than 100 friends and relatives rela-tives called during the evening. Hostesses last Sunday afternoon after-noon for a social hour and per sonal shower were Mrs. William H. Prince, Mrs. Melvin Cox, Mrs. Athe Meeks, Mrs. Lorraine Cox, Mrs. Wayne C. Gardner and Mrs. Nemmie Pearce. The affair was held at the St. George L.D. S. Institute of Religion building. Following a brief program of music and personal good wishes to the bride-elect, the guests repaired re-paired to the lounge where the many gifts were opened. Miss Winsor, daughtr of Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Winsor o fthis city is being married in the St. George Temple this (Thursday) afternoon with Pres. Harold S. Snow performing per-forming the ceremony. The couple will leave immediately immedi-ately for Sun Valley, Idaho for a brief honeymoon before returning to Boise to reside. |
