Show St. George Couple Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary Fifty years of married life were celebrated by Mr. and Mrs. Samuel T. Bleak on Sunday July 4. They were married fifty years ago on July 14th in the St. George Temple and have lived their entire married life as residents of St. George. Of their eight children only one, Donald of Los Angeles was unable to be present at the celebration held in their honor. While their fifty years of their married life wHl not officially have elapsed urfc next Wednesday, July 14, due to fW-hpji)ay, the celebration was helcPan Sunday to enable their children to be present. Children and grandchildren met at the Bleak home about noon on Sunday and spent the afternooon visiting and taking pictures. Mr. Bleak's mother, Mrs. Jane T. Bleak, who is ninety-one years old was present. She was photographed with her son and his wife and also with her great grandchildren who were present. At 6:30 the group went to the home of Mrs. Ruth Snow where 25 guests sat down to dinner at a table appropriately decorated for the Golden Wedding celebration. The evening was spent at the Earl Bleak home where a musical program was given by Mr. Bleak, his children and his grand children. Their children include Dr. Samuel Bleak of Salt Lake City, Dr. Alfred L. Bleak and Donald Bleak of Los Angeles, Mrs. lone Stucki, Mrs. Ruth Snow, Mrs. Agnes Pendleton, Earl J. Bleak and Williard Bleak all of St. George. It is the policy of the News to run biographies of Dixie pioneers and in keeping with this, Miss Mable Jarvis will present the biography bio-graphy of Mr. and Mrs. Bleak in next week's issue. |
