Show Funeral Services Held In New Castle For Robert Charles Knell Impressive funeral services were held in New Castle Wednesday at 2 p.m. for Robert Charles Knell, 78, lifelong resident of this part of the state. He was born in Pinto, January 30, 1861, a son of Robert and Mary Cook Knell, Dixie pioneers, and spent his entire hfe at farming farm-ing and stock raising. He has also been active in affairs of the church and has filled many positions posi-tions in that respect. He was a missionary to England from 1887 to 1890. Knell Death (Continued from first page) Isabelle Forsyth, daughter of Neil D. and Sophia Harrison Forsyth, in the St. George Temple and they made their home in Pinto where Mr. Knell served as bishop for six years. They moved to New Castle in 1911, where he became active in affairs of Iron county, serving one term as county commissioner, and was a member of the Iron county school board for several years prior to 1926. Surviving are his widow and the following sons and daughters: Gordon, Harold and Wilma Knell of New Castle; Mrs. Leila Atkin, Mrs. Nettie Morris and Marie Knell, of St. George; Mrs. Sylvia Middleton, Mrs. Fye Sevy and Mrs. Inez Lunt, of Cedar City; 11 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Rhoda Cannon, of St. George. Attending the services from this city besides Mr. Knell's children mentioned were Mrs. W. W. McArthur, Mrs. Ellis J. Pickett, Evan Pickett, Mrs. Clair Morris, Mrs. Dan Seegmiller, Orpha Morris, Mr. and Mrs. Woodruff Cannon and daughters, Rhoda and Elaine; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cannon, Howard Cannon, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cannon, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Webb, of Hurricane, Hur-ricane, and Mrs. Thressa Huntsman, Hunts-man, of Enterprise; Mrs. La Verne DeSwan, and Mrs. Lyle Benson represented the county officials, honoring Mrs. Nettie K. Morris, who is county treasurer. |
