Show Mrs. Jane Blake Branch To Celebrate Birthday Celebrating her S5th birthday anniversary, an-niversary, Sunday, Dec. 20, Mrs. Jane Blake Branch, of Price, who is again spending the winter in St. George, will be feted on that date by the daughters of her brother, the late Benjamin Blake, at the home of one niece, Mrs. Ma'rcell Schmutz. Born in Salt Lake City, Dec. 20, 1857, she was aged four when the family moved to Dixie. She was ninth in a family of 13 children, and learned all the "ins and outs" of pioneering first hand. Their home in St. George was the center of social affairs for young and old and often the dancing parties were held there. She has managed to forget all the sorrows and hardships of those days of the adobe yard camp and later years, in remembering the good times they had and the joy of accomplishing what they came to do. Widow of the late Eugene Branch, whom she married in the St. George Temple, Jan. 1, 1877, she enjoys her summers visiting among her nine children and winters in St. George doing Temple work. Her home has been in Carbon county since 1884. Her many relatives and friends are cordially invited to call on her at the Marcell Schmutz home, Sunday Sun-day Dec. 20. |
