Show Maeser I Eloise Alien Porker I Phone 789-2178 J Mr. and Mrs. Dale Slade wed Linda (Hall) Hasuike and Dale Slade were married on April 29 in Blanding. The wedding was held at the Blanding Library and Reception Center. Linda choose as her Matron of Honor her Sister Susan Atwood. Dale's best man was Steve Lovell. About 50 close friends and relatives attending the wedding ceremony. The reception was held in the center direcly after the wedding ceremony. The newlywed couple are spending two weeks in Acapulco and Mexico City Ci-ty on their honeymoon. Linda is the daughter of Lynn and Eula Hall. Dale is the son of Marvin and Gwendola Slade. Maeser Second Ward Young Adults met at the Jean McKensie home in Dry Fork one afternoon last week and as their service project cleaned her yard and prepared her garden area for planting. After the project was completed, com-pleted, they all enjoyed roasting hot dogs and drinking cold drinks. Wallace Caldwell has been in the I.C.U. at Ashley Valley Medical Center for four days. He was moved to a regular hospital room on Monday. He is in Room 4 if you would like to send cards. Sister Gaylynn Bowden of El Paso, Texas, former resident of Maeser, was entertained at an open house at the home of her Aunt June and James Fisher on May 1. Her parents, Frances and Betty Bowden, and three children from El Paso came for the gathering. About 30 I guests were served light I refreshments. Sister Bowden entered the Mission Training Center on May 4. Her msission will be in Indianapolis, Ind. Blanch Smith, Marlea and Sheila Beckstead and Deleen Jenkins spent Sunday in Hennifer with Waneta and Lorin Fausett to attend church services ser-vices where they son Corlon Outo Fausett was blessed. Jeff McClellan graduated from the B.Y.U. April 22. He graduated with the Prestigious Summa Cuim Laude. He has been accepted at the University of Utah Medical College. Calvin Knight has received his mission mis-sion call to Dallas, Texas. He will enter the M.T.C. June 30. Calvin is the son of Linda Slade of Blanding and Larry Knight of Grand Junction. He is and grandson of Lynn and Eula Hall. Andrew Palmer, son of Francis and Carol" Palmer, has received his mission mis-sion call to Tokyo, Japan. His grandparents grand-parents are Bea Bennion and Charles and Ethel Palmer, he will go on his mission in July. Valarie Rich, mother of five children and daughter of Ardith Abeg-glen Abeg-glen will graduate from Utah State University in Logan on June 4. She attended at-tended U.S.U. Education Center in Roosevelt and will receive her degree in Elementary Education. Valarie is married to Deareld Rich. She plans to raise her children and then teach in one of the Elementary Schools in the area. Charles Davis celebrated his 100th birthday on April 30, his actual birthday birth-day was May 3. Some attending from Vern;il were Ralph and Helda Hatch, Boyd and Enid Hatch and Edith Hatch and f;imily, Charles and Orletta Hatch . Davis were married on June 27, l!)0fi. Mrs. D;ivis is 95 years old. Over 200 people attended the party where light refreshments were served. The Davis' have 42 grandchildren, lift great gi andi hildren and 45 great, great grandchildren. The Iloyd Hatch's are holding home evem at their home this week with five couples expected. r |
