Show Counvy bsrvh rave vourih highest in en! ire sver.e In 1982 there were 740 births in Uintah Uin-tah County, pushing the county's birth to the fourth highest in the state, according ac-cording to a quarterly report by the Utah Department of Health. The quarterly vital statistics report is compiled by the Bureau of Health Statistics. The report shows District 6, Uintah, Duchesne and Daggett counties, during dur-ing 1982 with the second highest birth rate per 1,000 population in the state. District 6 birth rate was 31.3 per 1,000 boosted by 32.4 per 1 ,000 population in Duchesne County and 30.8 per 1,000 population in Uintah. The highest district of eight in Utah includes Summit, Utah and Wasatch counties with a combined total of 32 births per 1,000 population. The Utah birth rate during 1982 was 26.6 per 1,000 population 10 above the national rate. Also, the three Uintah Basin counties coun-ties had above average death rate in 1982: Daggett 8.2 with 7 deaths; Duchesne, 6 with 81 deaths; and Uintah Uin-tah County, 6.2 with 364 deaths. The Utah death rate is 5.4 per 1,000 population. Unlike other areas in the survey, Uintah County is under the state marriage mar-riage rate with 10.9 marriages per 1,000 population. The Utah marriage rate is 11.8 per 1,000 popoulation in 1982. Duchesne County followed suit, as it is below the state marriage rate with 10.1 marriages per 1,000 population. Daggett County has the highest marriage mar-riage rate in the state, 36.5 and 31 marriages mar-riages in 1982. During 1982 there were 131 divorces and annulments in Uintah County, fostering a 5.5 per 1,000 divorce and annulment an-nulment rate. Duchesne County had 67 divorces and annulments in 1982 for a 4.9 rate per 1,000 population. In Utah there were a total of 8,431 divorces and annulments an-nulments in 1982 which is 5.4 per 1,000 population. The U.S. divorce and annulment an-nulment rate for 1982 was 5.1 per 1,000 population. Births out-of-wedlock numbered 60 in 1982 in Uintah County and 24 in Duchesne County. Rate per 1,000 population in Uintah County was 81.1 and 54.5 in Duchesne County. The Utah 1982 total birth rate, out-of-wedlock was 69.8 per 1,000 population. The national na-tional rate is 184.3 per 1,000 population. Low birth weight, under 2,500 grams, was above the state's mark in both Uintah and Duchesne counties. In Uintah County it was 58.1 per 1,000 population and in Duchesne County it was 77.3 per 1,000 population. The Utah total was 56.1 per 1,000 population. The number of abortions was below the state ratio in both Uintah and Duchesne counties. Uintah recorded 53 abortions in l!)l!2 for a 71.6 ratio per 1,000 population, and Duchesne County Coun-ty had 16 abortions for a .'16.4 ratio per 1,000 population. The Utah total was 91.6 per 1,000 population. The quarterly report states that the number and rate of out-of-wedlock resident live births increased between 1981 and 1982 by almost 8 percent from 2,694 to 2,899 in Utah. Both the number and ratio of induced induc-ed abortion increased in 1982 compared com-pared with 1981. In 1982 there were 3,806 abortions among Utah residents. Most occurred in Utah, but 62 Utah resident abortions were reported to have occurred in Colorado. In 1982 there were 8,502 deaths of residents of Utah, an increase of three percent over 1981, but the mortality mor-tality rate held constant at 5.4 deaths per 1,000 population. Nationally, the mortality rate decreased by one percent per-cent from 8.7 to 8.6 deaths per 1,000 persons between 1981 and 1982. |
