Liielong residents of Kearns, Terry and Ken met while in junior high school relationship dated and through They were graduation. separated for a while when Ken joined the Army, but were reunited, lovingly, upon his return! Needless to say. they were married, and have been enjoying Kearns ever since as the place to raise their own family. As a Mom who is very serious about the raising of her sons, Terry had a few worries at first about all the little men in her life! Terry herself came from a family of four girls, so little boys, and brothers in particular, are a whole new experience for her! Lucky for everyone, Ken is an expert Dad, having had plenty of experience being a guy! In spite of any lack of know how where little boys are concerned, Terry does just beautifully with Jason and Jared (Jackson is fairly well adjusted, too!) in the home. She seems to have the greatest success with the little guys when she bakes them a batch of their favorite Bite-Size- d Jelly Rolls! Like we all know, the way to a mans heart is through the stomach! Jason and Jared love these little Jelly Rolls - they are just the right size for their little hands, and the cake is a moist, spongy delight! Says Terry, Its a mess - but so is everything else they eat!! Shes getting the idea about raising a couple of boys! Feed them first worry about the mess later! Ken, who is a real family man, also enjoys his wifes -- ! prowess in and when Ken favorite, works up an appetite fiddling with his ham radio (thats just a hobby - in reality, Ken is the Transmitter Chief for KSL Radio - so hes really a pro!), nothing hits the spot quite like one of Terrys great meals! In addition to the many hours put in just being a wife and mother, Terry loves to raise plants. In the summer, her green thumb goes wild in the garden, growing plenty of green beans for her favorite recipe! She also enjoys sewing, and she and Ken like to water ski during these hot summer days on Lake Powell. Together, the Moores are a fun and loving family. They enjoy life, and make it fun together. Lucky for us, part of their fun includes cooking and eating - and, luckily, theyve shared some of that fun! Try some of Terrys recipes just for your family! the kitchen. Dustin arrived with much fanfare and joy at the University Medical Center on March 1 (whew! just missed that Leap Year!), at 1:01 a.m. He weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz. and measured 204 long at his birth, and was greeted with the loving smiles of his Mom and Dad. New Dad, Bruce said of the momentous occasion, "It was one of the neatest experiences of my All that planning life! about just how you want the baby to look, laughs a happy new Mom, and when they finally arrive you think, Yup, that's exactly how hes supposed to look - hes perfect! Dustin is indeed a perfect little guy, with his fine, golden red hair, fair complexion, and big brown eyes, he is the picture of his Dad! Not only is he good looking, Dustin is also a bright little tyke.. .he spends hours gazing at his surroundings, trying to learn as much about his new world as possible! Handsome, alert, and loved like crazy, baby Dustin Baugh has already made quite an impressive mark in that world! Grandma Barbara Cox had the joy of sharing those long hours of labor with Deanna and Bruce, and she met her brand new grandson right after he arrived! Grandma Cox has been a real help to the new parents, and Grandpa Keith Cox is just as excited as can be with Dustin. They both plan many trips down from their home in Roy to visit him! Grandparents Joe and Ardella Baugh of Logan have yet to see little Dustin, but he has won them over anyway, and they hope to give him a kiss in person very soon! Jessica Ann Christensen has a brand new baby sister! Mom and Dad, ALAN AND VICKIE CHRISTENSEN of Kearns are the lucky parents of these two lovely little ladies! They welcomed baby Tina Sue into their family on February 26 at 7:44 p.m. in the delivery room of Cottonwood Hospital. Tina Sue weighed in at a robust 9 lbs even, and measured 204 long from her pretty little head to her tiny toes! Sister Jessica loves her baby so much that she hugs and kisses her all day long! Mom says the girls look quite a bit alike with those dark, creamy complexions and that bit of black hair. They both have bright dark eyes, although Tina Sues still like to stay wide open during the Alan night! Proud Dad thinks his daughter, and his wife, are all pretty special! In complete agreement are grandparents John Ray and Mem Cloward of Provo and Kenneth Glade and Maxine Christensen of Taylorsville. Spring has really sprung up a storm in the home of AND MARLA BRENT HEINEKEN of Kearns! have recently They welcomed their 6th litle dandelion plucker into their family! Darla Dawn was born at LDS Hospital on March 2 at 2:50 p.m., where she immediately claimed by her loving parents! Darla 8 weighed in at a roly-pol- y lbs. 5 oz. and measured a healthy 21 long at her arrival. She is the lucky little sister of our young men, Adam, 9, Chad, 7, Lee, 6, and Trent, 3, and she joined the family especially to give 14 year old Tana a sister! Mom, Marla, says that all the children love the baby - too well! - but pretty Darla is surviving all the attention beautifully. She sleeps like a dream! Dawn Darla resembles her brothers and sister with her fair coloring, her round, rosy face, and her big blue eyes. She has already captured the hearts of her grandparents, Max and Irene Matthews of Bennion, and Stan and Helen Heineken of East Mill Creek! Its a baby boy for ROGER AND NANCY RAINS of Bennion! Weighing jusl 6 lbs. and 1 os., Joshua Daniel joined his family on February 27 at 6:50 p.m. Joshua was I8V2 long when he made his grand entrance at Holy Cross Hospital. His big sister Crystal, who is almost 2, is so excited she can hardly stand it! Her baby brother looks just like her with his big blue eyes and fair, creamy .com- plexion! Joshua has just a touch of very blonde hair peeking through, so he stilll looks a bit bald! New Dad Roger has helped to deliver both of their children, and says he wouldnt miss it fr the world! Little Joshua Daniel is happy to be here,, safe and sound, in his loving family. He is especially fond of his Grandma Clegg who lives in West Jordan (near enough for hugs!!), and he sends his kisses to Grandma and Grandpa Raines up in Montana! Brand new babies! Start off your St. Patricks Day with some hot Lucky Four Leaf Clover Rolls. The dough is an old Irish recipe, and should be made a few days ahead to avoid an early morning disaster! For lunch, a catch leprechauns treasure with a real Rueben sandwich, and for dinner, its Irish Lamb Stew with Dumplings, and a Mint Green Loaf O Gold Cake for dessert. Sounds like the riches at the end of a rainbow, now doesnt it?! Well, faith and begorrah, that may very well be exactly what it is! For Breakfast LUCKY FOUR LEAF CLOV ER ROLLS Turn dough onto lightly floured board; knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes. Place in greased bowl; turn greased side up. Cover bowl tightly. REFRIGERATE AT LEAST 8 HOUS, OR UP TO 5 DAYS USE. BEFORE Keep covered. Punch down dough. To make Four Leaf Clovers: Shape pieces of balls. Place dough into each ball in greased muffin cup. With scissors, snip each ball in half, then in quarters. Brush with butter. DUMPLINGS Flour, 1 cup sifted baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt, 3 4 teaspoon mace or nutmeg, 4 teaspoon onion, 1 teaspoon minced egg yolks, 2 milk, one third cup Sift dry third cups confectioners 2 or sugar tablespoons milk 4 teaspoon peppermint extract drops green food coloring Blend butter and sugar, stir in vanilla and milk Beat until frosting is smooth and spreadable. Add peppermint extract and green food color to desired taste and color Beat until creamy Frost cake. Decorate if desired, with shamrocks (make from 3-- 4 green constructionpaper and glue on toothpicks). Happy ingredients together; add onion. Beat eggs with milk and blend into dry mixture. Drop spoonfulls onto lamb stew, as directed. Simmer 15 minutes with light cover. Serve at once. St. Patrick s For dessert.. Stir in sugar, salt, shortening, eggs, potatoes, and 4 cups of the flour. Beat until smooth.
