Show FUNERAL HELD WED. FOR LOCAL PIONEER Mrs. Mary Pierce Wood, 88, died Sunday night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Hanna W. Taylor Tay-lor of ailments incident to age. She was born in Salt Lake City Jan. 16, 1856, and came to this city at an early age. For many years, she served on the early-day early-day burial committee, making clothes for the dead. She had been active in Relief Society work. She was married to Lyman Garland Gar-land Wood Dec. 20, 1884, in the Salt Lake endowment house. He died in May of 1893 and in 1902 she was married to Llwellyn M. Dallin. Survivors include six sons and daughters, Mrs. Lucy M. Johnson, Lyman S. Wood, Salt Lake City, Mrs. Hannah W. Taylor, Solon Wood Springville; Garland D. Wood, Helper; Dean Dallin, Ogden, Og-den, by the second marriage; 35 grandchildren, six of whom are in the armed forces, and 43 great- grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed Wednesday at 1 p. m. in the Fourth ward LDS chapel, directed by Erwin Sheffield, bishop of the Sixth LDS ward. |
