Miss Dianne Clyde sets June wedding date She was selected as an attendant attend-ant to Belle of the "Y"' last year. She received the Rose Wallace Bennett Leadership Award in the College of Family Living and was honored also for her outstanding scholarship scholar-ship by being on the Dean's List at a recent Hall of Fame Program at the Y. Last summer she attended a summer Practicum in Diatec-tics Diatec-tics at Fitzsimmons General Hospital, Denver. Since February Febru-ary she has been doing a year's dietic internship at Highland-Alameda Highland-Alameda County hospitals, living liv-ing in Oakland. Mr. Carr is a senior at BYU majoring in sociology and min-oring min-oring in psychology. He was a member of Alpha Phi Omega, sophomore service unit and was a counselor in the elder's quorum and Aaronio Priesthood advisor in the BYU Fourth Ward. He has served an LDS mission in Uraguay. He graduated gradu-ated from high school at Berkeley. Ber-keley. . The young couple plans to make their home in Oakland, where Dianne will continue her dietetic internship. Mr. Carr will be employed as a student professional assistant for the Department of Mental Hygiene for the summer, and attend San Francisco State College in the fall. He plans to graduate gradu-ate from BYU next year. Kiwanis meet It will be ladies night this week at Kiwanis. The speaker is to be Carwin Williams of the BYU and Clifford Crandall is toastmaster. The meeting ia at 7 p.m. at Memorial Hall. Announcement is made this week of the engagement and approaching marriage of Miss Dianne Clyde, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine P. Clyde of this city, and Wallace James Carr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmo El-mo Carr of Oakland, Calif. The marriage is to take place June 28, in the Manti LDS Temple and a reception will be held the following evening, eve-ning, June 29 at the home of the bride's parents, 240 East Center. An open house will also al-so honor the couple in Oakland Third Ward on Temple Hill, July 8, given by parents of the groom. The attractive bride-elect is a graduate of Springville High School and LDS Seminary. She was active in Pep, Steno, and Spanish Clubs, and FHA and was selected as "Utah's Betty Crocker Homemake of Tomorrow." Tomor-row." She will graduate from BYU this month with a BS degree de-gree in Food and Nutrition and a minor in Chemistry. While attending BYU, she was an honor student, a member of Alpha Lamba Delta and Omicron Nu, honor societies; a member of the Thea Alexis, freshman service unit; president presi-dent of Home Hall and of the BYU Fourth Ward YWMIA. |
