Show Bride-Elect is Motif For Many Parties . THE S. O. H. CLUB MET SATURDAY EVENING at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Les-ter Davis. Prizes in the form of defense stamps were given during the evening to Mr. and Mrs. Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hitchcock. A delicious dinner was served. Included at the party were Mr. and Mrs. Lee Myrup, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Hollingshead, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Mildenhall, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Winter, Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Hitchcock and Mr. and Mrs. Davis. MRS. JANE N. STRONG WAS HOSTESS to the Ad Libitum club at her home on Monday evening. Pink rosebuds centered each small table from which a well arranged luncheon was served early in the evening. Tallies and other decorations decora-tions were suggestive of Easter. Bridge followed the luncheon and prizes for the games were awarded to Mrs. Carolyn Hoffman and Faye Nelson, the latter a guest. Other guests included, besides be-sides club members, Mrs. B. G. Bonsper, Isabel Nelson, and Florence Flor-ence Nelson. It is expected that some 12,000 tons of tin may be recovered from the treatment of discarded tin cans this year. o Inflationary prices may fool some people, but there is no reason rea-son why they should fool farmers who suffered disastrously from the deflation of the first war. Miss Pauline Clyde, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Clyde, who will become the bride of Dr. Joseph Jo-seph L. Pace tomorrow in the Salt Lake temple, has been the motif for a number of lovely parties here and in Salt Lake City during dur-ing the week. On Monday evening, Mrs. B. W. Brown of Salt Lake City entertained enter-tained at a party at her home for a group of girl friends. Miss Clyde and Dr. Pace were also honored guests at a nicely arranged dinner party given by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mensel at their home in Provo on Tuesday evening, for members of the two immediate families. Last evening, Mrs. Woodrow Fillmore and Marie Rivers of this city entertained at a shower for a number of girl friends, honoring Miss Clyde. The couple will be entertained at a wedding breakfast at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Garland Pace, following their marriage, in Salt Lake City, and also in their honor a wedding reception will be held at the home of the bride's parents on Saturday evening. MRS. DAVID REESE WAS CLUB HOSTESS to members of the Alpha Beta group at the Edna Mae Hedquist home in Provo Friday afternoon. The program featured a talk and demonstration of her art work by Bessie Gourley, and delicious luncheon was served. President Lela Packard conducted conduct-ed the meeting. Any schoolboy knows that teachers have different ideas. |
