Show Reception Honors Local Couple Married Monday i Announcement is made of the marriage of Phyllis Bird, daughter daugh-ter of Richard S. Bird of Mapleton, Maple-ton, and Calvin Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willis K. Johnson of Springville, which took place Monday in the Salt Lake temple. Witnessing the ceremony were near relatives and close friends including Mrs. Grant Huff of Calif., Mrs. Glen Moulton of Heber He-ber City, Mr. and Mrs. Willis K. Johnson, Richard S. Bird, Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Sumsion, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Whiting, and Mrs. John I. Holley. Honoring the young couple, a wedding reception was held at the Mapleton hall on Wednesday evening, eve-ning, at which invitations were issued is-sued to approximately 400 relatives rela-tives and friends. The guests were received by Parents of the bride and groom and members of the wedding party. The bride was charming in a lovely white satin wedding gown entrain. Her fingertip veil was of silk net, lace-edged, and her bouquet bou-quet was of pink rosebuds and gardenias. Veon Bird was maid of honor, and Neil Whiting was best man. Bridesmaids were Louise Clyde, Wilna Brown, Cecelia Maycock, Lucille Oakley, Luella Huntington, Hunting-ton, Shirley Marchbanks, Mar-Jrie Mar-Jrie Simkins, Lena Carnesecca, and Helen Christensen. Each of the attendants wore formals and held old-fashioned nosegay corsages. cor-sages. The reception featured a program pro-gram of string music and refreshments. refresh-ments. Mrs. Lewis Clegg and Mrs. Jarvis of Spanish Fork were acting hostesses. Mrs. Neil Whit-jng Whit-jng and Donna Whitney were in charge of the serving, assisted by members of the Boosters club.
