John Smith, nee Arva Mercer Newlyweds Make Home In Springville After Southern Utah Wedding Trip Making their home in Springville following a few days honeymoon trip to Nevada and southern Utah, are newly-weds, newly-weds, Mr. and Mrs. W. John Smith. Wedding rites were solmenized by Cleone Mildenhall oftheLDS ch urch in the presence of immediate family members mem-bers and close friends at the home of Mrs. E. W. Martin, Provo. Later the newlyweds were honored at an informal reception re-ception in the Martin home. " For her wedding, the bride was lovely in a smart dress-mater dress-mater suit of sunburst yellow, fashioned with high buttoned neckline and tiny, peter pan collar. Matched pockets at shoulder and waist accented the suit front and set off the plain, straight slrirt. Black suede slippers and a corsage of pink split carnations completed the ensemble. Former Miss Arva Mercer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Mercer, Lehi, and Mr. Smith' s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Albert H. Smith, Springville. For her. daughter's wedding, Mrs. Mercer wore a black crepe gown, while Mrs. Smith was attired in pink crepe. Each had a cosage of spring flowers. Donna Simmons, maid of honor for the bride, wore yellow silk. Clyde B. Miner was best man. A three-tiered wedding cake centered appointments in the serving room. It was set on a lace-covered table and was flanked by slender, light tapers. Mrs. Smith was graduated from Brigham Young University Uni-versity where she was active on the school newspaper and yearbook staffs. She was affiliated with Tau Kappa Alpha and Lambda Delta Sigma organizations. Mr. Smith, a student at BYU, is a veteran of five years' service in the army during World War II.
