Show Services held Saturday for retired teacher i l i Miss Bessie Finley, for whom services were held Saturday Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Saturday in the Third Ward Chapel, for Bessie Fin-ley, Fin-ley, retired school teacher, who died Thursday, May 12, 1966, at the Payson Hospital, following follow-ing an extended illness. Bishop Joseph L. Boswell was in charge of the services. Burial was in the City Cemetery Cem-etery under direction of Wheeler Wheel-er Mortuary. Miss Finley was born Nov. 23, 1892, in Springville a daughter of Almon W. and Mary Jane Chase Finley. She was one of the most beloved be-loved and respected teachers in high school. She was a member of the LDS Church and a granduate of the University of Utah, having hav-ing been affiliated with the speech department of that university uni-versity for a number of years. She attended BYU and did graduate work at Columbia University in New York. She taught in high schools in Grantsville and Spanish Fork, and was a teacher at Springville Spring-ville High School at the time of her retirement. Miss Finley was a member of the Hafen-Dallin Club. She had taught in the YWMIA. Surviving are four sisters and two brothers, Mrs. E. T.. (Lydia) Palfreyman, Mrs. Fredi (Eva) Hanson, May Finley, Mrs. Berton (Minnie) Groes-beck, Groes-beck, Arthur Finley all of Springville; and John F. Finley Fin-ley of Puyallup, Wash. President Johnson has asked his cabinet to make anti-inflationary cuts totaling $1.1 billion bil-lion from federal outlays before the fiscal year ends June 30. The quickie cut would reduce the 1966 budget deficit from $6.4 billion to $5.3 billion. |
