Show FUNERAL HELD WED. FOR MRS. WM. HUMPHREY Funeral services were conducted in the Fourth ward chapel Wednesday Wed-nesday for Mrs. Celestine Alexander Alexan-der Humphrey, 80, well-known resident of this city, who died Sunday afternoon following a short illness, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Faye Cranme. Mrs. Humphrey had attended a family picnic supper in the canyon can-yon Saturday evening, and was taken ill later that night.. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery, directed by A. Y. Wheeler Wheel-er and Son mortuary. She was born in Springville Nov. 27, 1865, a daughter of Horace Hor-ace and Martha Burwell Alvxan-der, Alvxan-der, early pionees, and spent her early life in this city. After her marriage to William Humphrey, they moved to Mammoth and resided re-sided there for approximately 40 years. Mr. Humphrey died in 1936. She is survived by seven sons and daughters, E. O. Humphrey and Mrs. Myrtle Briers of Salt Lake City; Cleve Humphrey of Pleasant Grove; Clyde Humphrey, Majova, Calif.; Joe Humphrey, Magna; Mrs. Faye Cranmer of Springville; Mrs. Louise Tigue, South Gate, Calif.; also 29 grandchildren grand-children and 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ms. Charlotte Gammell, Springville, and Mrs. Mildred Peterson, Salt Lake City; a half brother, Frank Alexander of Provo. |
