Louise Hill of this city and Charles:; Filer, a paroled convict, follows a courtship in the State prison. Filer, while In prison, invented a blind lockstitch machine, said to be the only one of the kind In the world, which he expects will make him rich; He was at work on the machine In his cell when he first saw the pretty young woman whom he married. Filer was sentenced for ten years for robbing a postofflce. Six months ago he was paroled by the Court of Pardons. Filer's aunt knew of his Invent;, e genius and the problem he was trying to solve, and she moved to this city to be near him. One day she took Miss Hill with her to the prison. It was a case of love at first sight Filer says that he Is a reformed man. On the day of his release from prison he received $3000 and a block of stock from the company formed to sell his machines. |
