The control program is planned by the weed committee consisting of Jack Nielson, My-ton, My-ton, chairman; Elmer Moon, Duchesne; Du-chesne; Marion Ross, Arcadia: Hale Holgate, Arcadia; Le-Grande Le-Grande Mecham, Mt. To assist farmers in controlling control-ling noxious weeds, the county is furnishing chemicals at half cost. This may be obtained at the County Court House in Duchesne Du-chesne or at the Co-op Service Station in Roosevelt. It is possible pos-sible that arrangements may be made for distribution at another an-other point for the upper country, coun-try, such as Mt. Emmons or Altamont. Al-tamont. If this is done, the people in this area will be notified no-tified of it. While our weed problem is a very serious one, progress can be made if recommended practices prac-tices are followed. Each situation situa-tion and kind of weed must be handled in a different way. All methods of weed control should be considered including crop competition, cultivation and chemicals. Recommendations for the use of chemicals will depend upon many things, including the kind of weed, season, crop, etc. Detailed De-tailed information on this may be obtained by contacting me or the weed supervisor; The County Weed Committee requests the cooperation of all to assist in conducting an effective effec-tive control program this year. |
