Mr. Sutteer conducted the joint session, introducing the visiting department officers and Mayor W. H. Linck, who extended ex-tended greetings to the guests. . Program numbers consisting of a vocal solo by Grant Peel, a reading by Mrs. W. R. Preece Jr., and a vocal solo by Mrs. Max Jenson, accompanied by Helene Hemphill, furnished entertainment. en-tertainment. The Legion convened at the Presbyterian Church for its meeting, and the Auxiliary met in the Legion Hall, with President Presi-dent Florence Lott in charge. She turned the meeting to Dis-trice Dis-trice President Gladys Harris. The regular business of the meetings was conducted in these separate sessions, followed by election of officers. Chosen to direct affairs of the Legion were Dale Ashby, of Roosevelt, commander and Calvin Cal-vin Monks, Myton, vice-corn-mahder. Auxiliary officers elected elect-ed were Erma Sutteer. of Ft. Duchesne, president; Lola Jones of Altonah, 1st vice-president; Maxine Burdick, Duchesne, 2nd Vice- president; Odie Hemphill, Myton, historian. A delicious meal was served to more than 150 registered guests by members of the Myton My-ton Auxiliary. Entertainment features included short addresses by Mrs. Ashton, Commander Jansen and President Kilfoi!; and program numbers by Mrs. I Lionel Babcock, Mrs. Aften Richens, Mrs. H. C. Cooper, Mrs. Max Jenson and Helene Hemphill; with Past Department Commander James Dalgleish as toastmaster. ' The fall convention was voted to Basin Post No. 64 of Roosevelt. |
