Show I Region District Convention Opens Here Saturday The American Legion and Auxiliary Auxi-liary members met in the Legion Memorial hall Tuesday evening and completed last minute plans for the District convention to be held tomorrow. to-morrow. ! The convention tinder the direction direc-tion of District Commander Orval Sigleton will convene at 3 p. m. in the Legion Hall. Legionaire L. C. Iverson is chairman of the program committee and Mrs. Mable P. McNiel the banquet committee. The dinner will be served at 6 o'clock during a recess period just before the election 'of district officers takes place. Henry McNiel will be toastmaster at the dinner. Other speakers at the convention will be Darrel T- Lane, national executive ex-ecutive committeeman; Norman L. Sims, Utah department commander; O. A. Wisely, department adjutant; E. A. Littlefield, manager of the Veterans hospital, and Mayor Storrs of American Fork City. Members of the district American Legion Auxiliary will meet in connection con-nection with the legion conclave and will hear Mrs. Sadie Stewart, Salem, district president; Mrs- Amy Reb-holz, Reb-holz, department president, and Mrs. Gay Warner, department secretary, Salt Lake City. Musical numbers will be given by Mrs. LaRue Morton, j who will sing, "Flag Without A Stain"; Cecil Ray Hansen will play a cornet solo, "Roses of Piccardy," andi Miss Madeline Robinson will give a reading. At 7 p. m. the Provo Post drum and bugle corps will give an exhibition exhibi-tion and the remainder of the evening eve-ning will be spent in dancing. |
