Show Funeral Services For Mrs. Margaret Z. Brown Iii her girlhood days in Lehi, Margaret Mar-garet Zimmerman was a member la the threatrical troup and literary classes and took part in all social and church activities in the town. In Pleasant Grove she was active in Relief Siciety and community work and in educational affairs- She was the mother of ten children and is survived by four as follows: Mr. iLydia B. Lun'd, Mrs. Amy B. Lyman and Dr. John Z. Brown of Salt Lake City. Funeral services were held in the tabernacle on Tuesday for Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Z. Brown with Bishop C. A. Gamett presiding. A saprano solo "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" was rendered by Eva Frampton Driggs, accompanied by Alexander Schriner, tabernacle organist, of Salt Lake City. President Presi-dent W. W. Warnick gave the opening open-ing prayer and a trio, "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" was rendered by Maurine and Helen Gamett and Gertrude Ger-trude Gourley, accompanied by Jennie Jen-nie Gleason. The speakers were, Elder El-der Charles B. Harper, Dr. Howard R. Driggs, Prof. Alice Reynolds, Patriarch Pat-riarch A. J. Evans, Dr. George H. Brimhall and Bishop C. A. Gamett A soprano solo, "Come Follow Me" was sung by May R. Walker, accompanied accomp-anied by Jennie Gleasan. The benediction bene-diction was given by Elder Stephen L. Chipman. i Tre Grave was dedicated by Elder George C. Naegle. Mrs. Margaret Zimmerman Brown was born March: 25, 1836 In Franklin Co., Penn. Her parents, George G. and Juliana Hoke Zimmerman, came from Germany in 1804 and settled In Penn. He father was a graduate of the University of Berlin and taught in colleges arid seminaries. In 1841 two Mormon Elders from Navoo, Jacob Foutz and Daniel Garn, who were doing missionary work in that locality, converted and baptized the Zimmerman family into the church. The Zimmerman family moved to Ogle Co., Ill-, where they lived till after the martyrdom of Joseph arid Hyram Smith. In 1846 they came as far west as Garden Grove, Iowa, where they spent the next five years. Father Zimmerman taught school there and acted as record clerk of the branch of the church at that place. They were closely associated with tie Farrer family which' later settled in Provo and the Secrlst family, fam-ily, early settlers of Davis county. , In the year 1851 the Zimmerman's came to Utah, crossing the plains in Harry Waltons Ox Team company. They made their home in Lehl and in 1857 she was married to John Brown of that city. In 1863 her husband hus-band was called to act as bishop of Pleasant Grove to which plac'e the family came and have since resided. |
