Ray Brown City Recorder ' Published in the Pleasant Grove Review, June 18, 25, i,l7 O O 100C Flower show winners announced "Delights of Summer," was the theme of the flower show sponsored by the Pleasant Grove Garden Club during Strawberry Days. The theme was created by Chris's Floral from Lindon. A porcelain girl stood before a running waterfall. The base was like a shell with baby breath, ferns and red roses all around the base. It was very attractive and set the theme for the show. Nora Hunter took best of the show with an artistic design arrangement. Others who had award winning entries are: Roses: Eldon Johnson, Guy Hillma, Jess Walker, Caris Hellnealo, and Lola Leonhardt. Large roses, Ruth Hillman and Carolyn Jacobs. Miniature roses: Alice Simper and Vada Winters. House Plants: Eva Reynolds, Debbie Ragan, Shirley Millgate, Alice Simper and Elna Burgner. Artistic Design: Susan Hunt, Sharon Weeks, Debbie Ragan, Pleasant Grove Floral and and Nora Hunter. Dried Arrangements: Julie Condor, Debbie Ragan, Glade Jorgenson and Pleasant Grove Floral. The Garden Club felt the show was a success and wish to thank everyone who participated. Scout Burger King Day planned Thursday, June 26, will be Scout Burger King Day locally as the Burger King establishment in Orem and Provo will donate $1 to the Utah National Parks Council of the Boy Scouts forevery Whopper sold that day. This is the fifth year that Burger King has assisted the Scout program in this way. In conjunction with this, a trip for two to Hawaii will be given to the winner in a contest. Scouts may write in 25 words or less "My mom is the best scout mom because . . ." One entry is allowed per family at .participating.. Burger . Kings. The offer is valid on Burger King Scout Day only. Lehi alumni reunion slated for tonight Remember, tonight is the night, all Lehi High School graduates are invited to the Lehi High School Alumni Reunion at the high school.
