Holmstead, 74, K diedSunday, Oct. 3,1982 from injuries suffered in M auto accident Sept. 27 ll: near Manilla. ?V she was born April 1, 1908 in Bingham to Clyde H. and Ethel Fillmore Konold. She married Ray Lavender and they were later ij divorced. She married fF,: George Holmstead who tit preceeded her in death. iin. She was very active in the American Fork i,? Senior Citizens t e organization. lit" Survivors include one son and two daughters, Gene Nelson, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Samuel (Ethel) Wheeler, Springville and Mrs. Lewis (Doris) Zohner of Manilla. One son Wm. C. Lavender preceeded her in death. Two brothers, one sister, Clyde F. Konold, Am. Fork; John H. Konold, San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; Mrs. Janet K. Tattersoll, Van Nuys, Calif.; nine grandchildren, grand-children, 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held Wed. Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. at Murray City Cemetery. ' Rusick of Downey, Calif. ; and Marilyn (Mrs. William A.) Wyler, American Fork. She has 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church, American Fork. She graduated , from high school at Collegiate Institute in Salt Lake City (the 'JjJ. forerunner of West- ttrt minster College). After furthering her edu- Ca''0ni she received her ,w teaching certificate and j; taught at Sharon " School in Orem. She I Sis lived with friends, the Rev. and Mrs. Wild- man Murphy in Amer- ngiw ican Fork on weekends X and vacations. She met Isaac Binns ' the Presbyterian sf llurch and they were ;; married on May 10, i; 1910 and set up house- I keeping on the family ; win in American Fork. h There were four child-it child-it ! ren, three daughters and one son, Wendell, (deceased) born to that union. Isaac Binns preceeded pre-ceeded her' in death in July, 1950. Mrs. Binns always took an active part in the Presbyterian Church. She was a teacher in the Sunday School for 40 years. When her children were of school age, she sponsored and taught in Christian Endeavor, a youth weekday group for Bible study and learning principles of Christian living. She took an active part in the Women's Missionary Mission-ary Society and served in several offices including includ-ing president. In January Jan-uary of 1952 she was elected an elder in the Presbyterian Church. She and her family assumed the roll of janitor in keeping the church clean and the lawns neat for several years.
