During the last two weeks these teachers have been busy building their claim shanties, in many cases the g.rls doing the work themselves. them-selves. Wherever possible four girls have taken up adjoining quarter sections and have erected a common home at the point where the four claims met, the house being so arranged that one room is located on each claim Each young woman will occupy the room on her own land, thus fulfilling tho requirement of the homestead law, which demands that the person taking up the land shall live on It for a cer tain period of the year.
