Show William Coleman Dies Tuesday After Car Upset William T. Coleman, 65, Lynndyl resident for many years, died on Tuesday at 10 p.m. at the Delta hospital of injuries suffered in a ear accident several hours earlier. The accident occurred on Highway High-way 6 about 7 miles north of Delta, Del-ta, at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Coleman was coming to Delta with his son, Ford L. Coleman, who was driver of the car. O. J. Bennett, deputy sheriff, investigated in-vestigated and stated that the au- tomobile hit the soft shoulder of the highway and went out of control. con-trol. It skidded 50 feet, bounced four times for another fifty feet and overturned. Both men were thrown from the car and were unconscious un-conscious for a time. Two men driving to Nephi witnessed wit-nessed the accident and stopped to give aid. While one went for help the other built a bonfire to keep the injured men warm. The left side of Mr. Coleman's chest was crushed, ribs broken, and there were possibly internal injuries. His son was bruised, but no bones broken. Within a short time Eldon Sherwood, Sher-wood, of the State Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and the victims vic-tims were taken to the Delta hospital. hos-pital. Was Veteran Railroad Man Mr. Coleman was born Feb. 6, 18-86, 18-86, at St. Joseph, Mo., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward T. Coleman. His early life was lived there, and he came to Utah 45 years ago as an employee of the Union Pacific. He moved from Helper to Lynndyl Lynn-dyl in 1919, where he was employed employ-ed as a boilermaker until he retired re-tired in 1948. He was a past president presi-dent of the Shop Employes Ass5n. at Lynndyl, and a member of the Unoin Pacific Old Timers Club. On June 21, 1910, he was married to Adelia Mangum, at Huntington, Hunting-ton, Utah. She died at Lynndyl Sept. 5, 1950. y Surviving are four sons and a daughter, William E. Coleman, of Helner: Clvde E. Coleman. Cali- ente, Nev.; Ford L. Coleman, Salt Lake City; Blaine L. Coleman, of Provo, and Mrs. Junius (Eldonna) Anderson,- Oak City; one brother, Ed. L. Coleman, Little Rock, Ark.; ten grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted conduc-ted at 1:30 p.m. in the Lynndyl ward chapel by Bishop Earl Great-house. Great-house. Friends may call at the family residence in Lynndyl from 10 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be in the Leamington cemetery under direction of L. N. Nickle and sons. |
