Show t lip MR. AND MRS. ROBERT L. BARTON Miss Garnet Mecham, Robert B. Barton exchange marriage vows By Hilma Lamoreaux Robert B. Barton claimed Miss Garnet Mecham as bis bride in a double-ring ceremony cere-mony performed in the St. George LDS Temple February 15 with President Reed Whipple Whip-ple officiating. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Barton of Paragonah and Mr. and Mrs. David B. Mecham of Tropic are parents of the new bride. A large group of family members and friends accompanied accom-panied the young couple to the Temple. . Thursday evening, Feb. 17 the newlyweds were feted at a wedding reception in Tropic where a program was presented present-ed in their honor. Friday evening an Open House was held in the Paragonah Para-gonah Ward Cultural Hall and the wedding party greeted guests while Mrs. Melva Barton Bar-ton played beautiful organ music. -The bride was lovely in her floor-length gown of lace trimmed trim-med satin complete with long sleeves and a train. Her Shoulder-length veil was attached at-tached to & jeweled tiara an'd her flowers were white carnations carna-tions and pink roses. She Ws attended by Nancy Huber and Mrs. Vera Larsen, her sisters;' and the Misses Vickl White. Lorrilee Jensen, lerrllee Jensen, Cherl Shakes-pare Shakes-pare and Helen Forsythe. Part of the girlg wore blue and part pink and the mothers had matching dresses. . J. Lowe Barton stood as best man for his cousin and Kristy Alger was at the guest book. ' The serving was done by the Misses Loura Barton, Holly Robinson and Louisa Davenport. Daven-port. The new Mrs. Barton graduated grad-uated from high school In Pluto County and the Cosmetology Cosme-tology College in Cedar City and is now employed at Mr. Lee's Beauty Salon. Mrs. Barton graduated from Parowan High School, attended attend-ed Southern Utah State College Col-lege in Cedar City and is now a cook at J. B. Big Boy in Cedar Ce-dar City. The newlyweds will make their home in Cedar City. |
