STEVEN ORTON GOWER Miss Lornaa Jean Gordon I became the bride of Steven Orton Gower in a double-i double-i ring ceremony at the Cedar I West Stake House August 8. i Bishop George II. Slack ofii-I ofii-I ciated. Mrs, Berneice Gordon, 170 North 900 West is the mother of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Reid Gower, 94 North! 800 West are the parents of the bridegroom. That same evening the newlyweds were feted at a reception in the Cedar West Stake Cultural Hall. They greeted their guests in a garden gar-den setting which included a picket fence, trellis dvcbr- ; ated with yellow daffodils,' and ap arch covered with yellow yel-low and red roses. The color scheme of yellow and grron was further enhanced en-hanced by the table decora- , Ms. Gordon Farnsworth shared shar-ed matron of honor duties in bright yellow A-line dresses of bonded crepe. The boll sleeves were trimmed with a band of sequins matching those accenting the neckline. Bidesmaids, Miss Janeen Hulet, Mrs. Merrill Jones and Mrs. Mitchell Anker wore green crepe dresses which were sleeveless and had empire em-pire waistlines. Miss Cindy Gower was the flower girl in a green A-line dress with lace decorating the neckline and sleeves. Best man was Danny Stckes; and Lee Gordon, Richard Rich-ard Gordon, Steven Gower, Connell Gower and Merrill Jones ushered. Mrs. Gordon wore a pink A-line of bonded crepe with bell sleeves. White and pink sequins provided the accent tions of brandy snifters with a yellow carnation floating in them. The bride wore a gown of white slipper satin featuring an empire waist and skirt overlaid with four tierrs of nylon lace. The scoop neck and pointed sleeves were accented ac-cented with appliques. From the tiara the viel of four layers of illusion net flowed to finger-tip length. She carried car-ried a triangle bouquet of yellow rosebuds. Mrs. Robert H. Beatty and, around the neck and at the 'wrirst of the bell sleeves. Mrs. Gower wore a green lace over satin A-line which featured fea-tured a rolled collar and bell sleeves. Both mothers wore yellof glamelia corsages. Mrs. Robert Williamc presided pre-sided at the guest book. Mrs. Bud Chamberlain, Mrs. Danny Stokes, and Mrs. Greg Top-hame Top-hame took care of the gifts which yere brought to them by gift bearers, LeAnn Beatty, Beat-ty, Beverley Gordon and Dennis Den-nis Gordon. Mrs. Marion Mc-Mullin. Mc-Mullin. Mrs T.pp Oorrlon. and Mrs, Thello Lambeth helped with the refreshments in the kitchen. The refreshments were served by the Misses Janice Dover, Paula Armstrong, Arm-strong, Terry Gordon, Helen Kelsey and Linda Grant. An orange dropped waist dress with matching bag and .shoes was chosen by the bride as her going-away cos-t cos-t ume. The newlyweds spent five days honeymooning in Salt Lake City. Pre-nuptial courtesies for the bride included a Miscell laneous Shower given by Mrs. Gordon Farnsworth and Mrs. Berneice Gordon and a Personal Per-sonal Shower given by Mrs. Merrill Jones and Mrs. Michael Mi-chael Anker. The bride is a senior at Cedar Ce-dar High School and is employed em-ployed at Valley View Medical Med-ical Center. The bridegroom graduated from Cedar High School and attended SUSC. He is now employed em-ployed by Blackburn and Gower. 1 |
