Show Funeral service held Saturday for accident victim 11 MpHlllpU II 0L t '1 1,1 AIM1 n 1 '-I ' I ERIC CALVIN CARTER Funeral services were held Saturday, June 6 for Eric Calvin Cal-vin Carter, 16, who was killed June 3 in and accidental fall from a building under construction con-struction on the Southern Utah Slate College campus. Sei vices were held in the Cedar Seventh-Ninth Ward Chapel. Speakers were Berniece Gillins, Ken Maughan and Gary Blackner with remarks by Bp. Francis W. Betenson. Williard B. Thompson, counselor coun-selor in the bishopric, conducted. con-ducted. Family prayer was Oifered by Jack Caretr. In-vccat.un In-vccat.un was offered by De-wayne De-wayne Carter, the benediction was by Clarence Pehrson and tire dedication of the grave at the Cedar City cemetery was by Sherman Carter. Musical selections included a double quartet singing "Sometime We'll Understand," Members of the group included includ-ed Carol Holman, Gladys horn, Jackie Diller, Joan Campbell, Elmer Cox, Ralph Hafen, Gene Holman, Larry Jones and accompanied ac-companied by Hal Campbell. A vocal duet, "I'll Waik With God," was sung by Richard Carter and Geraldine Barton and the Ninth Ward Choir sang "God Be With You." Prelude a"d Postlude music was by a string ensemble including in-cluding June Larsen, Madelon Payne, Carol Ann Jones, Robert Ro-bert Bradshaw and Evelyn Jones. Graveside music was I played by a string duet, including in-cluding Mrs. Larsen and Mel-lissa Mel-lissa Thorley. Carter was born Nov. 28, 1954, in Monticeilo, Utah, to Calvin Wesley and Gaye Black Carter. He was a student at Cedar High School and an active ac-tive member of the LDS Church. He was aLso active in scouting, and exploring and completed requirements for the coveted Duty to God Award". He served as president presi-dent of his class at the LDS Seminary and was active in sports. He is survived by his parents, par-ents, brothers and sisters: Jill, Jan, Curtis Guy, Kelli, Chad, all of Cedar City- Also surving is a grandmother, Mrs. W. L. Black, Monticeilo. |
