Show ! Joseph Harry Plummer dies; honored at rites '-"Hi . La,-"" ' ''r !-'' ,if . few ij.-f',:j,V,;(: If 1 Joseph Harry Plummer, 63, Professor of Languages at Southern Utah State College, passed away of natural causes in Valley View Medical Center July 12. He was born in Daniel, Utah October 4, 1908, attended Wasatch Was-atch County Schools and grad uated from the Wasatch High School in Heber. He began hk higher education at Brigham Young University and obtained obtain-ed his Bachelor's and Masters Degree in English from the University of Utah. He taught at the Park City High School, Cedar City High School, and was English and drama director di-rector at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. The past 27 years he has served in administrative and teaching positions at Southern WaYS'tat'e' College. These positions pos-itions include Dean of Students Stu-dents and Dean of Instruction and most recently he was serv-ing serv-ing as Chairman of the Department De-partment of Languages. For several years he conducted student tours during the summer sum-mer sessions into Mexico, and sponsored classes at the University Uni-versity of Americas in Mexico City. He has been a member of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Jes-us Christ of Latter Day Saints, and has instructed in nearly! all of its auxiliaries. At the ame of his death he was acting act-ing as the instructor of the Jedar 7th Ward High Priests group. He is survived by his wife, tiwo sons, and a daughter. His wife, Geneve Taylor Plummer, vvas born in Rexburg, Idaho. They were married July 28, 1939 and their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. His two sons, David A. and Douglas E. Plummer, are both j serving in the U.S. military.1 David is stationed at Langley AFB, Virginia and Douglas at Fort Bliss, Texas. His daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Theron D. (Marilyn) Rose resides in Pocatello, Idaho. Ida-ho. Mr. Plummer has two grandsons and three granddaughters. grand-daughters. Two brothers and a sister survive htm: A. Perry Plummer, Plum-mer, Ephraiim, Utah; Eugene R. Plummer, Lincoln, Nebraska; Nebras-ka; and Mrs. Eve Kelley, Eliz-abethton, Eliz-abethton, Tennessee. Funeral services wer,e held Saturday, July 15 in the 7th Ward Chapel in Cedar City. In lieu of flowers, the family fam-ily requested that, donations be made to the Southern Utah State College Language Department De-partment to be used for the J.
